হীরেন সিংহরায়

Hiren Singharay: banker, traveller, writer. Born in a small village called Paduma, Birbhum, brought up in Jharia, and then Paikpara, Kolkata, he went to school at Baranagar, read economics at the Scottish Church College and Kantakol Campus, Economics Department, Calcutta University. Having started his career with the State Bank of India in 1972, he worked at SBI Frankfurt, Continental Illinois Bank of Chicago in Frankfurt, Citibank London, and Standard Chartered Bank, London. His work took him to over eighty countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. His travels ignited his love for literature and culture. His writing speaks less of business, more of people in this cosmopolitan age.
